At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Jaipur and head to a traditional printmaking studio. Bring a garment to print, or we’ll provide fabric—either way, get ready to bring your imagination to life!
Once in the workshop, you'll receive all the necessary materials: fabrics, dyes, tools, and stencils. During the class, we'll learn the basics of traditional Indian printmaking, a technique that dates back several centuries. Throughout the workshop, we'll learn how to use natural dyes extracted from plants, and minerals, fundamental to printmaking. This practice is not only an art form but also a reflection of the rich culture and history of the area.
Throughout the session, we'll be able to try different stamping techniques, like block stamping, which involves the use of carved wooden blocks, and silkscreen printing, which allows you to create intricate patterns.
We can also experiment with stencils to create customized designs. Plus, you create your own designs using drawing, painting, and digital design techniques!
After 2 creative hours, we’ll take you back to your hotel with a personalized piece and a deeper appreciation for Jaipur’s rich textile heritage.
