Let yourself be captivated by magical desert landscapes with this tour which visits the majestic Masada fortress. You will also have the opportunity to magically float on the surface of the Dead Sea!
Tour of Masada and the Dead Sea
After collecting you from your chosen meeting point around 9 am, we will head to the Israeli desert. Our first stop is the magnificent Masada fortress - an impenetrable hill where Herod the Great decided to build his palace.
The Romans unsuccessfully besieged the place for many months. For us, it will be a little easier to gain access, as we will ascend in the Masada cable car known as the Cableway. At the summit, we will learn all about the history of the ancient inhabitants who decided to commit suicide rather than surrender to the invader. We will also visit the remains of the synagogue which the Roman troops tried to destroy.
After a free lunch, in the afternoon, we will relax and unwind by floating on the waters of the Dead Sea. We will also be able to read a book or magazine while you gently drift along the surface of this grand expanse of salty water.
After this unique experience on the waters of the Dead Sea, we will next pay a visit to Ahava, a company known for its incredible cosmetic products made using Dead Sea Minerals, before returning to Jerusalem on the bus at around 7 pm.
- This trip departs from Jerusalem, but there is also the option to take the same tour departing from Tel Aviv.
