Natural Science Museum Tour

At 10 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in La Plata and go to the Paseo del Bosque to start the tour of the amazing Natural Science Museum, the fourth most important museum in the world in its field!

We will visit the main points of interest of this museum, which has 20 permanent exhibition rooms and a collection of more than three million pieces, showing the evolution and diversity of nature from its origins to the present day. Besides the spaces dedicated to geology, botany, zoology, and paleontology, it also has several rooms of anthropology and the Universal History of Humanity.

We will start the visit on the first floor of the museum, where we will see the exhibition of the rooms dedicated to the Earth, time, matter, paleontology, zoology, and mineralogy. The giant skeleton of a diplodocus and the enormous skull of a blue whale will grab your attention. The life-size replica of the world's largest spider and the figures of the enormous sloths that lived with humans in the Tertiary Age are also a highlight.

The visit will continue on the upper floor, dedicated to Latin American anthropology in general and to Argentina in particular. We will also visit the Egyptian Hall, where we will see important sarcophagi and mummies from the time of Pharaoh Ramses II. All these pieces were donated by the Government of Sudan, in recognition of the Franco-Argentinean archaeological expedition that took place before the construction of the Aswan Dam in the 1960s.

After the guided tour of the museum, we will take you back to your hotel in La Plata, where we will arrive at 12 pm.

The tour includes pick up and transfer back to hotels in downtown La Plata. If you are staying in other more remote areas, we will pick you up at the steps of the cathedral of La Plata.
