Are you a nature lover? Discover the biodiversity of the Gulf of Fonseca with this 2-day tour from La Unión. You'll visit islands, volcanoes, beaches and much more!
At 12 pm we'll meet at 5A Avenida Norte in La Union to start this 2 day tour of the Gulf of Fonseca, considered by many the best natural harbour in the world and one of the most paradisiacal places in El Salvador.
We'll start by visiting the protected area of the Conchagua volcano, from where we'll have the best panoramic views of the area. If you prefer, at the time of booking, you can substitute choose to visit the Las Tunas beach instead. It's the perfect place to spend a relaxing day in the sun.
Afterwards, we'll take a guided tour through the village of Conchagua, did you know that some of the oldest churches in El Salvador are located here? In addition, we'll enter a local market where you can taste 'pupusas', a typical local delicacy.
At the end of the day we'll return to La Union for the night.
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to the harbour to board our boat to sail the Pacific. Ready to explore the islands of the Gulf of Fonseca?
The first stop will be Meanguera Island. We'll spend half an hour touring its grounds while the guide tells us about its volcanic origin, as well as the peculiarity that the borders of El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua converge here. You'll be in three countries at the same time!
We'll embark again to go to Zacatillo Island, where we'll stop for two hours so that you can taste its cuisine and enjoy its landscapes at your leisure. The last stop of our tour will be Conejo Island, a small paradise from where we'll return to La Unión.
We'll end the tour at the same starting point of the first day.
This tour includes one night's accommodation with breakfast at the Comfort Inn Hotel in La Union.
