Serrano River, Colored Sands Hall & Primavera Waterfall Hike
Hike Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Lençois, we’ll leave the town behind and begin our hike into the heart of Chapada Diamantina National Park. Ready to discover unique natural sites?
After a 15-minute hike, we’ll arrive at our destination, and following a brief introduction to the route, we’ll set off. We’ll start with the first 2-kilometer (1.2-mile) stretch that will take us to the Serrano River. Along the way, we’ll find natural pools, perfect for cooling off and taking breaks while we listen to the gentle sound of the water.
We’ll continue, and before you know it, we’ll reach the Hall of Colored Sands. This is one of the most unique spots in Chapada Diamantina. This area is striking for its layers of sand in shades of ochre, red, and yellow, created by water erosion over thousands of years. It’s the perfect place to stop, observe, and appreciate how geology, too, has its own whims.
We’ll keep moving alongside small streams and waterfalls until we reach the Primavera Waterfall, located on a high point in the mountains. Its waters flow down to the Lençóis River, creating a serene atmosphere, ideal for swimming or simply taking in the scenery.
Before walking back to the vehicle, we’ll stop at a natural viewpoint where we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of Lençóis, a perfect way to end the hike.
Finally, after a 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) hike, we’ll get back in the vehicle to return to Lençois. We’ll say goodbye and drop you off at your hotel 5 hours after picking you up.
