Tour Details
After meeting at number 1 Nazorjeva ulica, in front of the Celjska Mohorjeva družba bookstore, we’ll begin this free food tour of Ljubljana. The best part? Throughout the tour, we’ll enjoy small tastings. Ready to tempt your taste buds? Let’s go!
First, we’ll walk to Prešeren Square, the heart of the Slovenian capital. There, surrounded by modernist buildings, we’ll introduce Ljubljana’s culinary traditions. Afterward, we’ll cross Congress Square, where the architecture reflects centuries of refinement, and continue toward the Shoemaker’s Bridge, once a meeting point for artisans and merchants.
We’ll taste pumpkin seed oil, a key ingredient in Slovenian cuisine. Later, in Stari trg Square, you’ll be surprised by the blend of medieval and bohemian charm, and we’ll sample olive oils infused with black and white truffle, true gastronomic treasures.
Next, we’ll head to Mestni trg, the Town Hall Square. There, we’ll admire the Robba Fountain, a Baroque jewel, while we tell you about the best places to eat in Ljubljana. Then we’ll taste chocolate with fleur de sel and linden honey.
Finally, we’ll go to the Central Market, where we’ll witness the daily bustle among stalls selling fruit, cured meats, and spices. It will be the perfect moment to try Carniolan sausage with mustard and horseradish, a true classic!
At the end of 1.5 hours of touring and tasting, we’ll say our goodbyes on Butchers’ Bridge.
