Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Manaus and set off on a day trip that will allow you to experience the heart of the Amazon like a local. Ready to explore this incredibly lush natural environment? Let’s go!
We’ll head into the jungle and, after approximately 1.5 hours of travel, arrive near the Negro River. There, we’ll board a small boat that, in just 10 minutes, will take us to the lodge where an exciting jungle adventure awaits. We’ll be welcomed with a refreshing traditional Amazonian welcome drink.
In this idyllic setting, we’ll take part in one of the most traditional activities of the Amazon: piranha fishing. Accompanied by an expert, we’ll explore the banks of the Negro River while learning about its fauna and flora. Once we reach the fishing area, we’ll learn the ancestral techniques used, such as using beef as bait or the surprising noises made to attract the fish. You’ll be amazed!
Around midday, we’ll recharge with lunch by the river where, of course, fresh fish will be the star of the menu. Afterward, you’ll have 1 hour of free time to relax in this wonderful Amazon setting. Hammocks will also be available to make the experience even more special.
We’ll continue this complete route along the Negro River with a visit to a cassava plantation, the perfect moment to learn more about the culture, agriculture, and sustainability practices used by local communities to produce the famous Amazonian flour.
Our next stop will be at the home of a local family, where we’ll see the Amazonian way of life up close. It will be a warm and insightful moment!
Finally, we’ll take the boat again to leave the jungle behind and return to the minibus that will take us back to Manaus. We’ll drop you off at your hotel 10 hours later, bringing this complete day trip to an end.
