Fancy escaping the city for a truly Australian adventure on the open road? Explore breathtaking areas of natural beauty along the Great Ocean Road and discover the secrets of south-eastern Australia.

Tour Details

After picking you up from your hotel in Melbourne, we'll head out on the Australian National Heritage-listed Great Ocean Road. Discover this area of incredible natural beauty on one of the world's most scenic coastal drives and marvel at the new views of roaring surf, endless beaches, rocky promontories and enormous cliffs.

Firstly, we’ll stop off at Torquay Beach to admire this famous surfing spot and breathe in the fresh sea air. Our next stop will be the Role House. Did you know that it’s the most photographed house on Great Ocean Road? Suspended 40 metres (130 feet) above ground by a singular concrete column, you’ll understand why its unique architecture makes it a must-see spot on our trip.

Continuing our adventure, we’ll take a photo by the Great Ocean Road sign: a must-do for all those embarking on this adventure. Following this, we’ll head to a spot to witness koalas and colourful parrots in their natural environment.  Afterwards, we’ll continue our tour, stopping at Cape Patton, one of the best viewpoints along the Great Ocean Road. Don’t forget your camera!

We’ll take a break for lunch (at your own expense) in the beautiful Apollo Bay, known for its gastronomy as well as its surf culture. Savour a delicious lunch at a local café, after which you'll have time to wander around the town's shops or even take a refreshing dip in the ocean.

With renewed energy, take a stroll in the ancient rainforest of the Great Otway National Park, home to numerous colourful parrots as well as eucalyptus trees and towering native hardwoods - some of the tallest trees in the world.

Next, head to the Port Campbell National Park where you'll see the majestic Twelve Apostles. These dramatic limestone stacks will leave you awe-struck by their immense size and beauty. Learn how they were formed and why only eight remain standing, out of twelve. Depending on the wind and tide, you can go down Gibson Steps to see some of the Apostles from the beach.

The Loch Ard Gorge will be your next stop: a paradise beach surrounded by luscious wilderness, the gorge also has a fascinating maritime history - this area isn't called the Shipwreck Coast for nothing! Here, you’ll also admire the Razorback and Island Archway, two striking limestone and sandstone rock formations just off the coast.

Following an incredible day exploring the Great Ocean Road, you'll return to your hotel in Melbourne after making a stop for dinner at one of the many restaurants in Colac (at your own expense). After a total of 13 hours, we’ll say our goodbyes at your hotel. See you again soon!
