New York Financial District & 9/11 Memorial Tour
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at St Paul's Chapel, on 209 Broadway, and set off on this tour of some of the most important monuments in the city that never sleeps.
We'll begin our tour walking around the financial area of Wall Street. Follow your expert guide and learn about historic buildings on this legendary street, like the Federal Hall, where George Washington was sworn first President of the United States in 1789.
Of course, we'll also pass by the New York Stock Exchange. Did you know that it's the largest stock exchange in the whole world? We'll learn all about this institution's rich history, which dates back to the 18th century.
Our tour will also take us past some of the most iconic statues in Lower Manhattan such as the Double Check and the iconic Charging Bull and Fearless Girl—each one has a story to tell!
As we continue on, our guide will reveal how New York was founded by Dutch settlers who bought the island of Manhattan in the 17th century. Then, we'll head to the World Trade Center, presided over by two fountains built where the Twin Towers once stood. This monument commemorates the victims of the September 11 attacks of 2001.
Finally, having gained a deeper insight into the hustle and bustle of New York's financial area, and a deeper understanding of the city's history, we'll bring this walking tour to an end after a total of 2.5 hours. At the end of the tour, we recommend continuing to explore the World Trade Center at your own pace.
