Washington D.C. Day Trip
On the morning of the tour, you'll hop on a comfortable bus in Manhattan and head south through the East Coast states of New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland until you arrive in Washington D.C. Ready to explore the most popular sites of the nation’s capital?
The first stop will be the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, which features the world's largest collection of airplanes and spaceships, including the famous Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia, used during the first human lunar landing mission, and the Spirit of St. Louis, which was flown as the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight.
After you grab a bite to eat on your own, the tour will take us to the South Lawn of the White House, where we'll stop to take photos of the iconic residence of the President of the United States. Back on the bus, we then make our way down Pennsylvania Avenue, passing by iconic buildings like the FBI Headquarters and the National Archives Museum, until we reach the Capitol, the seat of the legislative chambers of the United States.
The next stop will take us into the neighboring state of Virginia to the renowned Arlington National Cemetery, where you'll follow your guide through the burial ground to President John F. Kennedy's gravesite and the US Marine Corps War Memorial, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial. Here you'll also see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Then, we'll get back on the bus and make our way back into D.C., admiring views of the imposing Pentagon along the way. The tour will continue to the National Mall, where we'll see the famous obelisk, the Washington Monument, as well as visit some of the city's most popular and photographed attractions: the Lincoln Monument, the Korean War Memorial and the Vietnam War Memorial.
After strolling around these emblematic D.C. monuments, we'll return to the bus and hit the road, passing by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial as we begin our journey back to New York.
