This tour of northwest Brava Island begins with a hotel pickup in Nova Sintra. Are you ready to discover the heart of the island? Let's go!
We'll start with a walking tour of Nova Sintra. For 1 hour, we'll stroll through its cobbled streets and parks while learning about Eugénio Tavares, Cape Verde’s famous poet of love. Did you know his verses still echo in traditional Cape Verdean music?
Next, we'll board a minibus and head to Covadela and Mato Grande, where viewpoints offer countless photo opportunities of the coastline. As we ascend to Nossa Senhora do Monte, we'll enjoy the cool mountain air and reach the Levadura viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
Our route through Brava Island continues to Fajã d'Água, a picturesque fishing village considered one of the most beautiful spots in Cape Verde. Here, we'll explore the natural pools carved into the rock formations with turquoise waters. Would you like to take a dip? We'll give you 1 hour of free time to relax or take a swim.
Afterwards, we’ll stop at a seafront restaurant for a one-hour lunch featuring meat or fish, rice, fries, and seasonal fruit. From here, you can also see the old Brava airport, whose runway was only 250 meters (820 feet) long. Can you imagine landing there?
The final stop will be at the Cova do Touro Grog Distillery, where a 45-minute visit introduces you to the sugarcane plantations. Of course, we'll see the sugar mill and the still, finishing with a Djarbi grog tasting while enjoying stunning views of Brava Island.
Finally, we’ll return to your hotel, concluding a tour lasting between 6.5 hours and 7.5 hours.
