Parras de la Fuente Wine Tasting + Sweets Tasting
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Amado Nervo, 102 in Parras de la Fuente, to head to a local winery. Did you know that Parras de la Fuente is the birthplace of wine in the Americas? Beyond its red wines, this region is famous for having perfected one of Mexico's most beloved and traditional expressions: sweet wine.
Through a guided tasting led by an expert host, we'll sample different local labels. We'll learn about the winemaking processes that concentrate the grape's natural sugars and how unique interpretations are achieved using emblematic ingredients of the region, such as walnuts.
No visit to Parras is complete without experiencing its artisanal pastries. We'll complement the tasting with a selection of traditional sweets, including the famous burnt milk and various nut-based treats. This pairing is designed to highlight the contrasts between the wine's sweetness and the texture of the local sweets.
As we savor each glass, we'll learn the stories of the families who have kept this tradition alive and why these wines are now an essential part of the national culinary scene.
Finally, after discovering the secrets of this gastronomic gem from Coahuila, we'll conclude the experience.
