Discover one of the treasures of Thailand and let yourself be seduced by the peace and harmony at the Sanctuary of Truth where you'll find out all about oriental philosophy!
Sanctuary of Truth
Standing tall at the shore of the Gulf of Thailand, is one of the most striking Buddhist-Hindu temples in Thailand: the Sanctuary of Truth. This over one hundred metre tall temple built entirely out of wood perfectly combines the most important elements of oriental religion and philosophy.
Inside you'll find figures carved in the wood that are said to represent the seven creators: heaven, earth, moon, father, mother, sun and stars. You'll be amazed by the detailed decoration of the temple's walls.
You can also wander around the four sections of the Sanctuary of Truth, discovering the artistic references of the origins of the universe and of parental love. As you walk inside the temple, you'll see that each and every detail has a meaning.
What's more, throughout the day you'll also see shows in which professional dancers perform the most typical dances in Thailand, such as the dance with bamboo sticks.
- The Sanctuary of Truth opens every day from 8 am to 6 pm.
- The dance performances tend to take place at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm.
- You must show your passport upon entry to the sanctuary.
