Ullswater Lake Boat Ride
Boat Ride Details
The Ullswater Lake Sightseeing Boat connects different piers. Aboard a historic vessel that has been sailing these waters since the 19th century, you'll enjoy imposing mountains, green valleys and surroundings that have inspired poets and artists throughout the centuries. Are you ready to be captivated by the beauty of the Lake District?
From the outside deck, you'll have unforgettable views, while inside, you can take shelter. With a little luck, you may even see red deer, peregrine falcons and other species that inhabit the area.
Halfway along the route is Howtown Pier, a popular landing stage for walkers tackling the famous Ullswater Way, a 32 km (19.8 mi) circular route around the entire lake. If you wish, you can disembark to walk part of the trail before reboarding.
The journey continues to Pooley Bridge Pier at the northern end of the lake. Here, you'll have the option of exploring the centre of this charming village, located about a 15-minute walk from the pier. Its streets are lined with tea rooms, traditional pubs and small shops where you can eat on your own and stroll around before taking the boat back to Glenridding.
If you prefer not to make any stops, the entire round trip on the Ullswater cruise takes approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes.
