At your chosen time, we'll meet you at the dock on Rua da Praia in Pinhão. We'll welcome you aboard the rabelo, a traditional Portuguese boat widely used in the villages along the Douro River. This boat is unique to the Douro region and dates back to the 18th century.
We'll set off eastbound on our relaxing boat ride through the waters bordering Pinhão. As we sail along the Douro, you'll be able to see the numerous bridges that cross it, plus the vineyards and wineries that stretch along the valley. If we're lucky, we might even spot a peregrine falcon or a majestic golden eagle.
When making your booking, you'll be able to opt for either a 1 or 2-hour rabelo boat ride. If you choose the longer tour, you'll have a glass of wine on board as well as the audio guide. Cheers!
Once our rabelo boat ride has come to an end, we'll say our goodbyes and disembark at the meeting point.
Boat Schedule
During the booking process, you'll need to choose the time you'd like to go on the rabelo boat ride on the Douro River. The times are as follows:
- 1-hour boat ride: 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Between April and September, you can also book a boat ride at 5:30 pm.
- 2-hour boat ride: 10:30 am or 2:30 pm.
