Description
Would you like to discover some of the best-kept secrets of Margarita Island? If your answer is yes, we'll pick you up at your hotel and start this day trip in which we'll visit La Asunción and Macanao.
First of all, we'll travel to the city of La Asunción, where we'll take a tour through its streets to discover its main attractions. We'll walk by Plaza Bolívar, where we'll find the Nueva Cádiz Museum, the Cathedral of La Asunción and the Monseñor Nicolás Navarro Culture House, the perfect place to learn about the local art.
Afterwards, we'll head to the Santa Rosa de la Eminencia Castle, a colonial fort located in a mountainous area of La Asunción, from where we'll get one of the best views of the valley while we learn about its history.
Having learnt about La Asunción, we'll head towards the Macanao Peninsula. As we travel, we'll take in natural attractions such as the Tetas de María Guevara. We'll reach Laguna de la Restinga National Park, where we'll board a boat to sail through the mangroves and look out for the birds that fly over the area.
Half an hour later, we'll return to the mainland and get into 4x4 vehicles to tour the north of Macanao. Here, the tropical beaches of Auyama and El Coco await us, as well as a landscape of endemic vegetation that will amaze you!
Next, we'll make our way to a restaurant on Punta Arena beach and enjoy a typical Margarita Island lunch. After lunch, we'll continue exploring Macanao and visit the Boca Chica Lagoon and the Fortín de la Galera, a lovely place to watch the sunset.
Finally, we'll bring the tour to an end as we return to your hotel, where we'll arrive after between 10 and 11 hours in total.
