If you're in Portonovo and want to explore one of the Galician paradises par excellence, you can't miss the Cíes Islands. At the indicated time, we'll meet at Rúa Rafael Pico where the ferry to the islands departs.
You'll have the whole day to explore this impressive Galician enclave considered to be one of the greatest treasures of Spain. No wonder the Romans named it the Islands of the Gods!
On the Cies Islands, you can go hiking or enjoy its long beaches and crystal clear waters. We recommend visiting Rodas Beach, one of the most beautiful in the world.
At 7 pm, after spending an unforgettable day at the Cíes, you'll have to be at the port to return by ferry to Portonovo.
If you want to return another day, you must indicate this during the booking process. If you're camping on the islands, you must first obtain authorization from the Galician Government.
In low season (October 1 - May 14), the ticket to the Cíes Islands includes a 1-hour tour with an official guide, since it's prohibited to visit the islands on your own during low season. The guide will accompany you during the boat trip from the port of departure. Once you dock at the Cíes pier, the guide will show you the main routes. During these walks, they'll explain the most important anecdotes and curiosities about the history and fauna and flora of this paradisiacal Galician archipelago.
This visit, however, is not offered during the 10 days of the high season of Holy Week, that is, from the Friday before this festive week (Semana Santa) through Easter Sunday.
Please note that in high season (May 15 - September 30, and during Easter week), you'll have to bring your own authorization from the Xunta de Galicia to access the Cíes Islands. We'll send it to you by email as soon as possible. For the rest of the year, we won't send it to you, as the guide will bring it on the day of the tour.
If you decide to stay at a campsite on the Cíes Islands, the campsite itself must process the authorization, or cancel it in case you want to cancel. If the authorization is not canceled by the campsite, the shipping company cannot cancel your boat tickets.
Meaning, if you want to cancel your trip to the Cíes Islands, you must contact the campsite first. Then, once the campsite confirms that it has processed the cancellation of your authorization, you must contact the shipping company (within the stipulated refund period) so that they can cancel your boat tickets.
Also, once an authorization is associated with a shipping company, it cannot be linked to another shipping company. Therefore, if you cancel your reservation with this company, you'll have to cancel your authorization and then process a new authorization.
