Antigua Guatemala Cruise Day Trip
Day Trip Details
As soon as your ship docks at the Puerto Quetzal cruise terminal, we’ll be waiting for you to take a tour of one of the country’s most visited destinations: Antigua Guatemala, considered the best-preserved colonial city in Latin America.
Upon arrival after a 2-hour trip, we’ll set out on a walking tour to explore the history of this place, where we’ll see the influence of Spanish colonial style in the buildings, parks, ruins, and, of course, traditions. You’ll fall in love with the colorful streets! We’ll also visit local craft stalls, where you can buy a souvenir.
We’ll wander through the San Francisco neighborhood and head toward La Merced Church, which stands out as one of Antigua’s most important churches. We’ll also see the Santa Catalina Arch, built in the 17th century. Did you know this structure allowed cloistered nuns to move between convents without being seen? Of course, we’ll stroll through Central Park to admire the Cathedral of San José, which had to be rebuilt in 1680 following several earthquakes.
Finally, we’ll give you some free time to have lunch and buy some souvenirs. We’ll meet up again and return to Puerto Quetzal, where we’ll say goodbye at the starting point after a total of 7 hours on the tour.
