Waterfalls & South Coast of Iceland Tour
We’ll set off from the various pickup points in Reykjavík at the specified time. Are you ready to discover the must-see sights of Iceland’s south coast?
- Skógafoss
- Vík
- Reynisfjara
- Seljalandsfoss
First, we’ll travel along the island’s south coast to admire the lava fields stretching out at the foot of Hengill Mountain. On clear days, we may even see the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes, as well as the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago.
Our tour will take us to the Skógafoss waterfall, where the river, over 196 ft (60 m) tall, creates a spectacular sheet of water. Here you can marvel at the spectacle and take photos of the rainbows that often appear on sunny days among the mist.
Having admired the breathtaking coastal scenery, we'll head to the village of Vík, where you'll have around 1 hour of free time to get lunch. Did you know that this is the southernmost town in Iceland?
Afterward, we'll stop at the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, famous for its basalt stacks that rise dramatically from the sea, facing the coast. We'll explore this unique beach filled with black stones as you listen to the legend of the wicked trolls who wanted to smash a ship against the rocks...
We'll then make our way to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Here we'll climb the mountain until we reach the cave behind the falls. Entering the cave, we'll enjoy the unique view of the beautiful Icelandic landscape through the curtain of water.
After 10.5 to 11 hours of discovering the waterfalls and southern coast of Iceland, we'll return to the original departure points in Reykjavik.
Meeting Points
During the booking process, we'll ask which hotel in Reykjavik you're staying at so we can let you know the closest meeting point. Since most downtown streets aren't accessible by bus, you'll need to head to a nearby spot marked as "Bus stop" followed by a number.
Small Group
During the booking process, you can select the tour in a small group, where no more than 19 people will be on the tour.
