Description
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. From this rural lodging in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, we'll embark on a hiking tour in which we'll discover the main corners of this protected area in northern Costa Rica.
In the first part of the route, we'll hike 3.5 km until we reach the Las Pailas sector. This area of Rincón de la Vieja, one of the most spectacular of the national park, stands out for its volcanic landscapes. During the tour, we'll see smoke fumaroles, mini geysers, and bubbling volcanic mud pits!
As we walk through this terrain, we'll admire more than 300 species of birds and native animals such as armadillos, coatis, and iguanas. We'll also try to spot different kinds of monkeys, including the white-faced, howler, and spider monkeys. The biodiversity of Rincón de la Vieja is undoubtedly one of its great attractions!
After getting to know the local fauna and flora, we'll continue walking through this area of the province of Guanacaste towards the Oropéndola waterfall. This impressive waterfall of Rincón de la Vieja falls from a height of 25 meters and pours its waters into a beautiful natural pool of the Blanco River.
We'll rest for a few minutes on the banks of the waterfall and finally walk back to the meeting point, arriving around 3.5 hours after departure.
