At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at number 780 on Avenida Niemeyer, one of the main entrances to the Rocinha favela. Ready for the tour?
First, we’ll hop on a motorbike, one of the community’s traditional means of transport, which’ll take us to the highest part of the neighborhood. This way, you’ll experience something that’s part of everyday life for Rocinha residents.
At the top, we’ll start a walking tour through Rocinha’s streets and viewpoints, while sharing stories, curiosities, challenges, and achievements of the local population. During the tour, we’ll also visit a terrace with panoramic views over the favela, the perfect moment to understand the scale of this area.
After the walk, we’ll head to the sports field, where we’ll take part in a training session and then play a soccer match with children and young people from the community. An adrenaline-packed experience!
After the match, we’ll return to the starting point, where we’ll say our goodbyes after a total of 3 hours.
