Tijuca National Park Off-Roading Tour
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at your chosen meeting point to kick off an adventure through Tijuca National Park, the largest preserved urban forest in the world. Keep your eyes peeled... You might spot turtles, coatis, fish, monkeys, and other wildlife along the way.
Our first stop is the Vista Chinesa viewpoint, home to an oriental-style pagoda with spectacular panoramic views over the south of the city and Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. We'll share the story of its fascinating connection to tea cultivation in Brazil!
Next, we'll follow the Taunay trail to the Cascatinha, the tallest waterfall in the park. We'll stop here for around 40 minutes so you can take a refreshing dip in the natural pool at its base.
After cooling off, we'll visit the charming Mayrink Chapel, tucked away in the heart of the forest. This small church, which seems perfectly made for its surroundings, radiates a wonderful sense of tranquility. We'll then continue along the trail to the giant jackfruit tree, the largest fruit in the world!
We'll carry on through the Tijuca National Park visitor center, where we'll take in the permanent exhibition "A Forest in the Metropolis," before rounding off the tour at the Lago da Solidão reservoir, a spot steeped in history.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes back at the starting point, 3 hours after setting off.
