Tour Details
After meeting up on the steps of the former Customs building, we'll begin our free tour of Rosario, the largest and most populated city in the province of Santa Fe.
Our first stop will be the Fuente de las Utopías, located on the historic Bajada Sargento Cabral. Here, you'll hear all about the legend of the secret tunnels hidden under the road. Then, we'll head to the riverbanks of the Paraná River. In this area, we'll learn about the history of the port warehouses and discover how they became cultural spaces today.
We'll continue our tour next to the river channel and reach Parque España, where we'll see the artwork of the Catalan architect Oriol Bohigas. Very close by, you'll find the CEC, the Centro de Expresiones Contemporáneas, another one of the most symbolic buildings on the riverbank.
As we stroll through this area, we'll discuss wetland ecosystems and the flora and fauna of the Paraná River, which separates the provinces of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos. We'll also stop at the historical map located near the CEC to learn more about General Manuel Belgrano.
After a 2-hour route, we'll end this free walking tour of Rosario in front of the National Flag Memorial. Here, we'll discover the story of how General Belgrano raised Argentina's national flag for the first time—a historic event that took place on the banks of the Paraná on February 27, 1812.
