We'll meet at the La Manchuria farm, a coffee paradise located just 8 kilometers (5 miles) from downtown Salgar.
Our adventure starts with an exciting 4x4 ride. We'll drive through the lush coffee plantations and enjoy the stunning views of the Colombian Andes and the age-old coffee estates. As we go, we'll learn fascinating information about the local plants and animals, and soak in the beautiful scenery.
Our next stop is a visit to a coffee processing plant located nearby. We'll see how coffee beans are made from the harvest. Then, we'll hear about how they're roasted and enjoy a yummy lunch.
Later, we'll have a delicious three-course meal at the coffee farm's hacienda. Each course will include a tasty soup, your pick of meat or vegetable lasagna, and of course some dessert.
Then there's more to come! We'll go to the tasting area for a coffee-tasting session that will help us become experts in recognizing the unique flavors of different coffee types.
The session will last an hour, and that will wrap up our Salgar coffee farm tour. You may decide to stay behind and take a dip in the hacienda's refreshing swimming pool for a delightful finish.
