Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Santorino restaurant, opposite the Samaná pier, to board a ferry bound for Sabana de la Mar. All aboard!
After an hour's journey, we'll disembark at the Sabana de la Mar pier, where a vehicle will be waiting to take us to Los Haitises National Park in a few minutes. Once at our destination, we'll set off on an easy hiking trail through the tropical forest of this spectacular natural enclave in the Dominican Republic.
During the walk through Los Haitises, we'll have the opportunity to enjoy the rich native fauna and flora. This place is home to numerous species of orchids, as well as an unrivalled number of birds: pelicans, scissor-tailed birds and parrots, among others.
The tour, which lasts about an hour and a half, will also take us through some caves, with examples of authentic Taíno rock art, which today bear witness to the ancient civilisations that inhabited these lands. You'll be amazed!
The adventure through Los Haitises National Park will continue with an exciting kayak trip through the mangroves. We'll navigate through narrow channels surrounded by dense mangroves and the park's characteristic mogotes, which can measure between 30 and 40 m (98 to 131 ft) in height.
After about 1.5 hours, we'll give you some free time to take a refreshing dip in the park's natural pools, an ideal moment to relax and enjoy the surroundings. After your swim, we'll refuel with a delicious typical Dominican lunch. Bon appétit!
Later, we'll take you back to the Sabana de la Mar pier for the ferry's departure to Samaná. Once at the departure pier, we'll conclude this 8-hour experience.
