We'll meet in the Los Genoveses beach car park to carry out the star observation. The location may vary to find the best conditions for the activity. We'll provide you with all the necessary equipment so that you can enjoy the experience comfortably.
The Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is a spectacular spot without light pollution, which is ideal for distinguishing the constellation with the naked eye. Our expert astronomy guide will teach you to recognise the main constellations and planets that light up the night sky.
The experience will take you on a journey through the stars to learn about the mythology behind each constellation. We'll discover the influence of the Earth's movements and other stars on the calendar, tides, and eclipses. Towards the end, we'll use binoculars to be able to appreciate them in more detail.
Marvelled by the incredible celestial vault in the middle of the natural park, when we finish the visit, we'll know how to recognize and identify the planets visible with the naked eye, the artificial satellites, different types of stars, and constellations.
The tour will end returning to the starting point.
Tour Options
During the booking process, you can choose between two options. In both options, the activity has an expert guide in astronomy. The difference between the options is the observation equipment used:
- Standard Stargazing Experience: this option includes the use of binoculars, a laser pointer, constellation maps, and a fluorescent solar system for 1.5 hours.
- Stargazing Experience with a Telescope: with this option, instead of binoculars and a laser pointer, you can enjoy stargazing with a professional telescope for 2 hours, which will allow you to see the celestial bodies with much more detail.
