Relish the exuberant tropical nature in Puerto Rico on this trip from San Juan to El Yunque National Forest. A paradise of biodiversity!
El Yunque National Rainforest Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Juan and set off for the eastern zone of the Island. For 40 minutes, we'll delve into the scenery, until we reach El Yunque National Rainforest.
Once there, we'll pass a large mudslide caused by hurricane Maria in 2017, and afterwards, we'll continue climbing to the highest peak in the rainforest. At 3510 feet (1070) metres high, the Toro Peak will provide you with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.
For 25 minutes we'll walk along rainforest paths and if you're lucky, we'll even spot a red-tailed hawk, a species native to the area. As we continue, you will learn about the unusual flora and fauna that flourishes in this environment.
Making your way through the lush vegetation is more than worth the effort, as awaiting you at the end of the route are the breath-taking waterfalls and natural pools of El Yunque. Did you know that for years the locals kept this area a secret? Not only can you take a refreshing dip, but the most daring among you can even jump from the waterfall.
Finally, we'll end the tour by taking you back to your hotel arriving 4 to 5 hours later.
Keep in Mind
We do not recommend booking this tour if you arrive in San Juan on the same day.
