Tatio Geysers & Machuca Lagoon Trip

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama and then head to the most important site of geothermal activity in all of Chile. After traveling for around an hour and a half, we arrive at El Tatio geyser field, situated at more the 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level.

El Tatio is one of the most visited locations in the Atacama desert. Here, you will witness the constant eruptions of steam, rising out of more than 100 small craters in the earth. The site is the third-largest geyser field in the world. We will also visit thermal pools and enjoy a delicious breakfast while watching this spectacular geothermal activity at the break of dawn.

After eating, we'll leave the mesmerizing landscapes of the El Tatio behind as we make our way to the Machuca Lagoon, where we'll visit a wetland inhabited by a great variety of highland birds such as flamingos and ducks.

Finally, from the lagoon, we'll return to San Pedro de Atacama, where we will conclude this 7 to 7.5-hour excursion. We'll drop you off in the centre of the town.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels located within a radius of up to 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) from the centre of San Pedro de Atacama. Depending on availability, we may be able to pick you up from hotels closer (maximum radius of 2 kilometres or 1.2 miles) or further away (maximum radius of 5 kilometres or 3.1 miles), so we recommend that you always indicate accommodation located in the historic centre of San Pedro. Please note that pickups in the nearby towns of Ayllus, Solor, Cucuter and Toconao are not included.
