Tatio Geysers & Machuca Lagoon Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at the indicated time and then head to the most important site of geothermal activity in all of Chile. After traveling for around an hour and a half, we arrive at El Tatio geyser field, situated at more the 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) about sea level.
El Tatio is one of the most visited locations in the Atacama desert. Here, you will witness the constant eruptions of steam, rising out of more than 100 small craters in the earth. The site is the third-largest geyser field in the world. We will also visit thermal pools and enjoy a delicious breakfast including tea or juice, sandwiches, cookies, yogurt, and fruit while watching this spectacular geothermal activity at the break of dawn.
Leaving behind the mesmerizing landscapes of the El Tatio, we make our way to the Machuca Lagoon, where we'll visit a wetland inhabited by a great variety of highland birds such as flamingos and ducks.
At the end of the excursion, we'll take you back to San Pedro de Atacama, where we'll drop you off at the small square in the center of the town or at a central point in town between 11:30 am and 12 pm.
Meeting point
The tour includes pickup from hotels located within a radius of 10 kilometers from the center of San Pedro de Atacama. If your hotel is located outside this radius, you'll have to go directly to the meeting point located at 451 Ignacio Carrera Pinto Street.
