San Vicente de la Barquera + Secuoya Forest Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point in Santander or Torrelavega to set off toward the town of Cabezón de la Sal, the first stop of our day trip.
In this town, we'll visit the famous Secuoya Forest of Cantabria, declared a Natural Monument in 2003. Did you know it's the largest secuoya forest in Spain? You can walk around these giant trees that are up to 131 ft (40 m) tall and 6.56 ft (2 m) in diameter. They're truly impressive!
Afterward, we'll head to the town of San Vicente de la Barquera, where we'll enjoy one of the most beautiful sceneries of the entire Cantabrian coast, with the Picos de Europa as the backdrop.
This town has several buildings that are declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Asset of Cultural Interest). Here, you can visit the interior of two of these buildings: the Gothic-style Iglesia de Santa María de los Ángeles and the Castillo del Rey. Don't miss admiring the views of the bay and the estuary of San Vicente. Take a picture!
Lastly, you'll have free time to buy a souvenir, and finally, we'll return to our starting point 4.5 hours later.
