Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to begin this food tour of São Filipe. Fogo Island has a unique cuisine, influenced by its culture, history and volcanic soil, which gives a special flavour to its products.
Throughout the tour, which we'll do on foot, we'll stop at iconic places in the capital of the island, such as the municipal market. There, we'll taste some local products, such as roasted peanuts, exotic fruits like cimbron, barneda and the typical fig from the village of Chã das Caldeiras.
We'll continue the tour at Casa Djarfogo, an emblematic place where you'll have the opportunity to taste the famous savoury pastries, such as fanana, batanguinha or fritada.
We'll also visit the Maria Augusta bakery, known for its legendary queijadas. In addition, you can taste the popular Fogo goat cheese and enjoy an infusion of tea from local plants.
At midday, the experience will culminate with a delicious lunch in a local restaurant, where we'll serve you typical dishes such as totoco, djagacida and, of course, the unmistakable Fogo wine. Cheers!
Finally, after this feast of flavours, we'll return to your hotel, where we'll say goodbye after a total of 4 hours.
