On this day trip to Seoraksan from Seoul, we'll explore one of the most beautiful national parks in South Korea. Choose between visiting Naksansa Temple or touring Nami Island—the choice is yours!
Day Trip Options
At the time of booking, you can choose between two options, depending on the places you prefer to visit. You can choose to combine the tour of Seoraksan with Naksansa Temple or Nami Island. Both options include bus transportation, an English-speaking guide and admission fees.
Below you'll find a brief description of each tour option:
Seoraksan National Park & Naksansa Temple Day Trip (10.5 Hours)
With this option, we'll leave at the indicated time from the meeting point of your choice. After a 3-hour drive, we'll arrive at Seoraksan National Park. Once there, you'll be captivated by the colors blending together in this natural landscape.
For 3 hours, we'll explore Seoraksan and hike the mountain. Did you know that it's one of the highest mountains in South Korea? The countless trails and high hills create a landscape to admire. After the walk, you'll have free time to continue enjoying the park at your own pace.
Among the optional activities, you can take the cable car up to the Gwongeumseong Fortress, located 700 m (2,296 ft) above sea level. The ride takes about 10 minutes and offers panoramic views of iconic landmarks such as Ulsanbawi Peak and the rock formations of Manmulsang from the cabin. You can also take the opportunity to sample some local cuisine at your own pace.
With newfound energy, we'll reconvene to head to the Naksansa Temple, built more than 1,300 years ago. During our visit, we'll admire the seven-story Stone Tower and the Uisangdae Pavilion, the meditation place of the Uisang ambassador. We'll also see an imposing Buddhist stone statue called Haesugwaneumsang, that's 16 m (52 ft) high.
After touring the surrounding area, we'll make our way back to the meeting point in Seoul.
Spring tour: in spring, you'll get to see the cherry blossom road leading to Naksansa Temple. The itinerary and visiting times at each attraction may be subject to slight changes depending on circumstances.
Seoraksan + Nami Island Day Trip (12-14 hours)
On this day trip, the first half of the activity will be exactly the same as the one described above.
At noon, after you've had lunch at your own pace, we'll set off for Nami Island. Located 2 hours from Seoraksan, we'll board a ferry that will take us across the Bukhan River to this idyllic place in just 5 minutes.
Once on the crescent-shaped island, we'll leave you about 2.5 hours of free time to explore the place at your leisure. We recommend a stroll along its charming trails, lined with vibrant colored trees. In fact, this corner of South Korea has often been the setting for the country's romantic novels. An ideal place to spend a special moment and relax.
After this time, we'll meet again to return to the meeting point.
Seoraksan Seasonal Day Trip (12-13 hours)
If you choose this option, we'll take the same day trip to Seoraksan as described in the first option. We won't visit Naksansa Temple or Nami Island, but instead we'll focus on soaking up the autumnal landscapes of Seoraksan National Park.
We'll hike along its mountain trails while contemplating the ochre, orange, and scarlet tones of the Seoraksan forests, whose beauty is even more spectacular during the fall.
Here, you can take the Gwongeumseong Fortress cable car and enjoy South Korean cuisine at your own pace.
Finally, after enjoying the fall foliage of Seoraksan, we'll return to the pickup points in Seoul.
