Itinerary

Having been picked up from your hotel in Seoul, you'll head on your way to discover the South Korean capital's most iconic palaces, temples and monuments.

First of all, you'll stop at the Blue House, the President's executive office and official residence, which owes its name to the bright blue tiles decorating its roof. Your expert guide will give you all the details of the building's history, which has played an important role in the wars it has seen.

Your next stop on this guided tour of Seoul will be the Gyeongbokgung Palace, where you'll have the opportunity to watch the changing of the guards ceremony, a must-do experience in the city. Unlike other similar ceremonies, here, the changing of the guards is a surprising display full of sound and colour. As well as enjoying this curious ritual, you'll get to explore Gyeongbokgung itself, the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty.

Remaining within the palace complex, you'll head to the National Folk Museum, where a wide variety of fascinating exhibitions will teach you all about the different traditions and ways of life in Korea, and about the most important events in Seoul's history. Don't forget to take a moment to admire the museum building itself: an impressive example of traditional Korean architecture.

You'll then visit the Jogyesa Temple, one of the chief temples of Korean Buddhism. Located in the heart of the city, the beautifully decorated and colourful building is surrounded by a garden of lotus flowers, bringing the place a feeling of great serenity and peace.

Your tour will end at Seoul City Hall.

Important information

On Tuesdays, instead of visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Folk Museum, you'll visit Deoksugung Palace and the History Museum.
