At 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Sigiriya and head north to the ancient city of Anuradhapura.
About an hour and a half later we'll arrive at our destination, ready to explore this area full of temples and Buddhist ruins. And no wonder, since Anuradhapura was the capital of the Sinhalese kingdoms for more than 1,000 years!
The monumental area of Anuradhapura extends over 40 square kilometers, so there is certainly no shortage of fascinating places to discover. The Isurumuniya Vihara temple and its impressive stone carvings, the sacred tree of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the immaculate Ruvanvelisaya Dagoba and the sacred sculpture of the Samadhi Buddha await to be explored.
