Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the designated time at the Café & Bookstore Lette in Skopje to hop on a bus for a 30-minute journey that will take us to the Vodno Mountain. Ready to explore one of the most spectacular landscapes of North Macedonia? Let's go!

Once there, we'll take a cable car that will take us to the top in just 10 minutes. Here, the stunning Millennium Cross awaits. With its 216 feet (66 meters), it's one of the largest Christian monuments in the world.

It was built in 2002 to commemorate 2000 years of Christianity in Macedonia, and it has become one of the most important symbols of Skopje. For 1.5 hours, you'll explore the area and enjoy the spectacular views of the capital from its best viewpoint. You'll love it!

Then, we'll make a quick stop at the Church of Saint Panteleimon, located in Gorno Nerezi. This Byzantine gem houses some 12th-century frescoes that are considered one of the most beautiful in the world. This magical corner is filled with history and spirituality.

We'll continue our trip toward one of the most emblematic natural sites of the country: the Matka Canyon. This gorge, which stretches over 12,355 acres (5,000 hectares), is famous for its abrupt rocky walls, caves, and medieval monasteries hidden among the vegetation.

This site is also home to the Matka Lake, the oldest man-made lagoon in Macedonia. Then, you'll have 2 hours to stroll along its trails, explore its caves, or simply relax next to the water.

Finally, we'll begin our journey back to Skopje and say our goodbyes at the starting point 5 to 6 hours later.
