At the designated time, we'll meet up at the Bryggjegota pier and set off on our boat trip to explore the Barsnesfjorden fjord and the Årøy River in Norway. The breathtaking scenery of one of the most famous fishing spots in the country awaits us.
As we depart from Sogndal, we'll pass under the magnificent Loftesnes Bridge and reach the 5-kilometer-long (3-mile) Barsnesfjorden. The emerald green hills surrounding the fjord reflect in the crystal-clear waters, creating a stunning view.
While cruising, we'll also pass by the village of Barsnes, which has traditional wooden houses that make a perfect photo opportunity. As we approach the Årøy River, we'll learn that this area has been famous for sport fishing since the 19th century.
The fast-flowing river is home to some of the largest salmon in the world, with a record weight of 34 kilos (75 pounds) caught in these waters. Don't miss the chance to witness this unique natural phenomenon.
After an hour of exploring the area, we'll head back to Bryggjegota pier, where we started our adventure.
