On this Fimreite boat trip, you'll sail along the waters off the coast of Sogndal, discovering the Fjord of Dreams and one of the most critical war scenes in Norwegian history.
At the appointed time we'll meet at the pier of Bryggjegota to board a boat that'll take us along the coast of Sogndal towards the small village of Fimreite.
During the boat ride, we'll admire the incredible views offered by the Sogndalsfjorden, one of the arms of the famous Fjord of Dreams. Emerald waters, green hills, small villages dotted with wooden houses... you'll feel like you're dreaming!
While we enjoy the stillness of the fjord, we'll learn the history of the Battle of Fimreite, one of Norway's most virulent naval conflicts. Nearly 5,000 soldiers took part in this 12th-century battle! Victory would result in the proclamation of Sverre Sigurdsson as the new monarch.
Once we have reached Fimreite, we'll turn around and return to Sogndal. After an hour and 40 minutes, we'll end the boat ride back at the starting point.
