Explore Zion National Park with us on this hiking route, where we’ll walk along the Pa’rus Trail, Emerald Pools, and Big Bend Overlook. A truly impressive geological landscape!

Tour Details

After meeting at the Zion National Park Visitor Center near the Pa’rus Trail, we’ll have a brief introduction to the route ahead. Once ready, we’ll board a minibus that will take us to one of the most fascinating geological landscapes in the southwestern United States.

Shortly after, we’ll begin the first stretch of the hike toward the Lower Emerald Pools, a network of trails carved into sandstone formations over millions of years. We’ll climb approximately 175 steps while observing hanging gardens fed by constant water seepage flowing down the canyon walls.

Next, we’ll return to the minibus and head to the Riverside Walk, where we’ll walk alongside the Virgin River. This watercourse has been the main erosive force responsible for carving Zion Canyon.

We’ll stop at Big Bend Overlook. There, we’ll look up to the sky in search of the California condor, one of North America’s most endangered birds. Did you know this was one of the first places where the species was successfully reintroduced into the wild?

We’ll also walk along the Pa’rus Trail, the only fully paved trail in the park. As we follow this path, we’ll cross ancient alluvial deposits and learn about the valley’s sedimentary dynamics. The tour will end at the Zion Human History Museum, which you can visit on your own. There, you’ll have the opportunity to gain historical insight into this environment and the communities that have inhabited it since ancient times.

Finally, we’ll return to the original meeting point, where we’ll say our goodbyes after a total of 4.5 to 5 hours.
