What to Do in the Borromean Islands?
Welcome to the Borromean Islands, an archipelago located in Lake Maggiore made up of three small islands that you'll get to explore on your own: Isola Madre, Isola Bella, and Isola dei Pescatori. Which ones would you like to visit?
Mountains full of vegetation, calm waters, colorful houses... During the boat day trip, you'll enjoy the characteristic scenery of Lake Maggiore.
On Isola Madre, in addition to seeing the Palazzo Borromeo, you can stroll through its beautiful botanical garden. If you prefer to go to Isola Bella, you can visit the summer palace of Count Vitaliano VI at your own pace and its wonderful Renaissance garden.
Did you know that Isola dei Pescatori is the only inhabited island in the archipelago? You'll see how the local people live as you walk through its streets. Worked up an appetite yet? If you want, you can have some delicious fish for lunch at a local restaurant - it's up to you!
