Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we’ll meet outside the Sydney Aquarium. After a brief introduction, we’ll board a vehicle for a 2-hour drive west. Our destination? the Blue Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And for good reason! This region features unique sandstone rock formations covered with eucalyptus forests.

Our first stop will be Echo Point, where we’ll spend around 30 minutes admiring the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley. From this panoramic viewpoint, we’ll learn about the erosion that shaped these formations. Did you know the characteristic blue hue of the mountains comes from oils released by eucalyptus trees? Your photos will look like postcards!

Afterward, in about 35 minutes, we’ll reach the Zig Zag Railway station. There, we’ll enjoy a 45-minute ride on a restored steam train. It’s a 19th-century engineering marvel designed to overcome steep slopes with a zigzag track.

Next, we’ll stop in Blackheath, where you’ll have 45 minutes of free time to have lunch and explore this charming town, known for its traditional architecture and local atmosphere.

Once you’ve regained your energy, from Blackheath we’ll head to Katoomba Falls, where you can walk along the boardwalks and observation platforms, taking in the impressive waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation. This peaceful spot is ideal for capturing striking nature photos. Its landscapes will stay with you forever.

We’ll then return to the vehicle and, after around 40 minutes, arrive at Scenic World. You’ll have 2 hours to enjoy its main attractions and take a walk through the rainforest.

We’ll ride the Scenic Railway, one of the steepest railways in the world; the Scenic Skyway, with a glass floor; and the Scenic Cableway. We’ll also walk along the Scenic Walkway, an elevated path that takes you deep into the forest. Did you know this ecosystem is home to plant species dating back millions of years?

Finally, we’ll return to Sydney on a panoramic boat, with a journey of approximately 45 minutes, ending at Circular Quay. There, we’ll say goodbye after a total of 11 hours together.
