Are you in Taipei and enjoy drinking tea? This tea tour through Pinglin and Maokong will explore the most important regions of tea production in Taiwan in just one day.
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station to leave Taipei behind and begin this tea tour through Pinglin and Maokong. This journey will reveal the many stages of tea—how it goes from a seed all the way to ending up in your mug!
This adventure will begin with a sightseeing trip on the Maokong Gondola, which has spectacular views of the south of Taipei. On the way down, we'll take a gentle walk along one of Maokong's beautiful paths surrounded by tea gardens.
We'll then continue this Taiwanese tea tour by visiting a tea production centre, where we'll discover the main features of the famous Tieguanyin and Baozhong teas.
As a way to recharge, we'll take a break so you can try out the local cuisine on your own at one of the many teahouses in Maokong. This place, popular for its views of the Taipei Basin, is the perfect spot to enjoy a bite to eat alongside some tea.
The last section of this tour will take us to the Pinglin District. Here you'll be able to admire the incredible beauty of the Thousand–Island Lake and the Bagua Tea Garden.
Finally, we'll visit the Pinglin Tea Museum, where we'll learn all about the history and evolution of Taiwanese tea. The tour will finish with a trip to a local tea shop, where we'll discuss the art of preparing and tasting Taiwanese tea. Would you like to try a cup?
After eight and a half hours, the tea tour through Pinglin and Maokong will end back at our starting point in Taipei.
