After picking you up at your hotel in Tozeur or Nefta at the designated time, we'll set off to explore Tunisia's most iconic mountain oases and desert film locations.
Our first stop will be the Chebika Oasis, a hanging oasis with a crystal-clear waterfall and breathtaking scenic views. Once a Berber village known as the "Palace of the Sun," Chebika is the most famous mountain oasis of southern Tunisia. For 45 minutes to 1 hour, we'll walk along the river, follow the path to the natural spring, cool off under the refreshing waterfall, and admire a scenic view over Chott El Gharsa.
Then, we'll continue toward the Tamerza Oasis, the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia. After about 20 minutes, we'll reach this oasis famous for its stunning canyon and waterfalls. As you take pictures of the beautiful landscapes and soak in the peaceful atmosphere, we'll stop to enjoy a traditional lunch, including soup and salad as a starter, and Tunisian couscous, or meat cooked in a gargoulette as a main course. Seasonal fruits, including dates, a specialty of Tozeur, will be served as dessert. We'll spend 30 to 45 minutes in the Tamerza Oasis.
Afterward, we'll drive for about 15 minutes and head to the Midès, perched on the edge of dramatic gorges. Here, for about 30 minutes, we'll stroll through this picturesque village, take in the canyon views, and taste fresh local dates!
Our adventure continues with a journey in an off-roading vehicle across the salt lake of Chott El Gharsa, where we'll reach iconic film locations, such as The English Patient. Its lunar-like landscapes will leave you speechless! Next, we'll arrive at Onng Jmal, a legendary desert site known for its rocky formations. You'll feel like you're on Mars! This site has served as a backdrop for many international productions. At these two sites, we'll spend around 1.5 hours.
Finally, after an approximately 15-minute drive, we'll end our trip in Mos Espa, where Star Wars was filmed. Once we've seen this famous filming set, we'll enjoy a magical sunset over the Sahara's golden dunes. After 1 hour here, we'll return to your hotel, where we'll conclude our day trip after 8 hours.
