Travel back in time with this guided tour of the Egyptian Museum in Turin - a place that will take your breath away!
Turin Museo Egizio Tour
At 10 am we'll meet in Piazza Carignano and head to the Museo Egizio to begin this exciting guided tour.
We'll enter the oldest Egyptian museum in the world, even older than Cairo's - the Museo Egizio in Turin was founded almost 100 years earlier. No wonder the famous Jean-François Champollion said "The road to Memphis and Thebes passes through Turin".
As we explore the different rooms of the museum, you'll feel as if you've gone back in time to ancient Egypt. We'll see sarcophagi, mummies, canopic jars and many more remains of this ancient civilization. The museum also has an area dedicated to papyrus and hieroglyphics writing that you'll love!
One of the most fascinating places to visit during the guided tour will be the Temple of Ellesiya, built during the reign of the Pharaoh Thutmose III. The guide will tell you all about it along with many other interesting facts about the artefacts in the museum.
The tour will end next to the Egyptian Museum bookstore at 12:15 pm.
