Galle Private Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Unawatuna at 8 am and start this private tour to Galle, an ancient colonial town in Sri Lanka.
After a short drive along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, we'll reach Galle, one of the most important cities in the country due to its fascinating history. We'll start the tour by exploring the fortification of Galle and telling you the most curious facts about the Portuguese and Dutch occupation in the 18th century.
First, we'll see the Galle Fort, a monumental complex of great historical value. Did you know that it withstood the devastating 2004 tsunami? You'll be amazed at how well-preserved it is! From here, we'll head to the bastions of Utrecht and Triton, two defensive sites with stunning views of the bay.
Then, we'll walk through the streets of the old town of Galle and, if you wish, you can explore the Maritime Museum. After the guided tour, you'll have free time for lunch at a local restaurant and to relax on the beach.
At the agreed time, we'll meet again and leave Galle behind to return to Unawatuna. We'll end the tour at your hotel after 7 hours.
