Do you want to discover some of the most beautiful natural settings in British Colombia? There's no better way than on this Shannon Falls and Whistler Day Trip from Vancouver.
Shannon Falls & Whistler Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Vancouver at 8 am, ready to explore some of the region's best sights. Did you know that Vancouver has long been known as 'North Hollywood'? So to begin the day, we'll take you to the locations where hundreds of Hollywood movies have been filmed.
Next, we'll make our way to Stanley Park. For thousands of years, this land was used by indigenous people before British Columbia was colonized by the British, and these days its is a beautiful public park with a dense forest surrounded by water. Plus, from here you'll be able to enjoy amazing views of the city.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to Cypress Mountain. Used as a location for the freestyle skiing in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, in the winter this is a popular ski resort which also offers a panoramic view of the city.
Once you've enjoyed the incredible views, we'll head to Britannia Mines, a historic gold mining town. Then we'll take a short hike to explore the third largest waterfall in British Colombia: Shannon Falls. The water here falls from a height of 1,099 feet (335 meters), and you're sure to be impressed by its natural beauty.
Our next stop will be at Stawamus Chief, where you'll be able to take a close look at what is claimed to be the world's second-largest granite monolith. Afterwards, we'll head to Brackendale which, in season, is the best place to see bald eagles.
Following on from this, we'll make a brief stop at the Tantalus Range, to see the incredible Mount Tantalus, before heading to Whistler Village. Host to most of the 2010 Winter Olympics, this is one of the most popular ski resorts in Canada and has even won multiple awards for its pedestrianised village. Here, you'll have four hours of free time to enjoy the activities on offer here, including taking a gondola ride or seeing the Olympic rings, thrill-seekers can enjoy the world's longest zipline, or foodies can experience Gordon Ramsey's Araxi & Oyster Bar. Please note that additional activities are not included.
Finally, we'll meet again and make our way back to Vancouver, where we'll drop you back at your hotel.
