Vilnius Free Walking Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Cathedral of Vilnius and set off to explore the city's most iconic landmarks.
We'll begin at Cathedral Square, taking in the impressive Cathedral and the Grand Ducal Palace, before making our way through the historic center along Castle Street (Pilies gatvė), lined with centuries-old architecture. Along the way, we'll pass by the Presidential Palace and the University of Vilnius, one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe.
We'll also visit the Amber Museum, stop to admire the stunning Gothic facade of St. Anne's Church, and explore the bohemian Užupis district, a self-declared republic within the city with its own constitution and a unique artistic spirit.
The tour will take us through the former Jewish Ghetto, where the guide will tell us all about its profound and moving history, as well as past the Old City Hall, St. Casimir's Church, St. Theresa's Church, and the Church of the Holy Spirit, all remarkable examples of the city's rich architectural heritage.
We'll then make our way to the Gate of Dawn, one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the region, before finishing at the Old Town Market (Halės Turgus), where the city's everyday life comes alive.
After 2.5 hours of exploring Vilnius, we'll wrap up the tour at the market.
