Cueva del Silencio Hike

At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Church of Viñales. From there, we'll set off on a hiking route along the Palmarito trail that'll take us through the breathtaking Viñales Valley.

To begin, we'll venture into the valley and marvel at the mogotes, the unusual rock formations rising up from the fields. As we walk through the lush landscapes, we'll also see the extensive tobacco and coffee plantations. Here we'll make a stop so we can see how tobacco leaves are dried, learn about the cigar-making process and try an authentic Cuban cigar.

Next, we'll come to the Cueva del Silencio, or the "Cave of Silence". As we head inside the dark cave, we'll descend to a depth of almost 328 feet (100 metres) until we get to a lagoon submerged between the rock walls.

We'll spend half an hour exploring the cave, before heading back into daylight to go to a nearby lake where you can take a dip. You'll have some free time here to admire the scenery and get something to eat.

Our hike will then come to an end as we return to the starting point and say our goodbyes after a 5-hour adventure.
