At 2 pm, we'll meet at the Angra do Heroismo Marina to start this unique boat trip. During this cruise, we'll discover the sunken ships on Angra do Heroismo Bay -it's like an underwater museum on the island of Terceira!
Then, we'll get on the boat and start to sail the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. In a just few minutes, we'll arrive at the Underwater Archaeological Park in Angra do Heroismo Bay.
Through the glass bottom of the boat, we'll be able to see the heritage and historical legacy that lies hidden at the bottom of the sea. We'll pass by the anchor cemetery, where we find over 40 large anchors, some of which can be up to 10 feet long!
Just a yard away we'll find the area where over 80 ships were wrecked. Have you heard of the famous Lidador? This steamship of more than 255 feet long sank in February 1878.
After an hour-long cruise, we'll arrive back at the meeting point.
