Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Auburn Avenue to begin this free civil rights tour of Atlanta and learn about the legacy of Martin Luther King in Georgia's capital city!

Over the course of the tour, we'll delve deeply into the history of the civil rights movement in the United States, with special emphasis on the life of one of the most famous activists of all time.

We'll trace the life of Martin Luther King, passing through places which marked his life, such as the exterior of his childhood home and the Ebenezer Baptist Church to which his family was closely related. We'll also visit the burial place of Martin Luther King and his wife.

Next, we'll discuss the history of the African-American community and review the equality laws that have been implemented in recent years as we walk through the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame.

Our next stops will be Wheat Street Church, and the oldest fire station in Atlanta, both of which played fundamental roles in racial integration. In addition, we'll see a number of striking urban art murals.

After 2 hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the free tour at Jackson Street Bridge.
