Day Trip to Girona, Figueras and Cadaqués

  • 318 reviews | 2,741 travellers
Completely recommended activity. Flavia, the very professional guide, alternated the explanations in Spanish and English in an alternative and orderly manner, apart from telling us about history and art, she told us legends and curiosities from when they filmed Game of Thrones in Girona. Since it was Monday and the Dalí museum in Figueras was not open, we spent less time so we were able to spend more time in Girona and Cadaqués. Very punctual both at departure and arrival in Barcelona. Everything is great

Description

We'll meet at the scheduled time at the bus station located on Carrer d'Alí Bei in Barcelona. From there, we'll board a bus and kick off this day trip to Girona, Figueras, and Cadaqués.

Our first stop will be in Girona, where we'll visit one of the most impressive historic old towns in Catalonia. There we'll also discover the charming Jewish quarter, did you know that it's one of the best preserved in Europe?

The next stop will be in Figueras, an important communications hub that connects Spain and France. There you'll be able to visit the Dali Museum on your own if you wish, which was built over the old theater of the city. It has the largest collection of Salvador Dali's masterpieces, from his first all the way to his very last!

Before continuing with the tour, we'll leave you about 2 hours of free time to enjoy the delightful cuisine of the Alt Empordà. Then we'll go to Cadaqués, one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa Brava. Whitewashed houses, the deep blue Mediterranean, and the end of the Pyrenees mountain range merge in this picturesque fishing village.

Upon arrival, we'll immediately become immersed in the atmosphere of the village and get lost among its magical narrow streets. The church of Santa Maria is one of the highlights here.

We'll then return back to the starting point in Barcelona and say our goodbyes after 11 hours of excursion.
